    Posted: 20 Feb 2017 at 10:36pm
Hi,

Have a huge English to Greek dictionary in PDF. Can search for the english terms just fine, but not getting any results when searching for the greek terms, even for ones I'm sure are there. I tried converting to word, but the greek characters come out strange, mostly squares. When copying a greek word from the pdf and pasting into the search box, I'm getting the same characters. Any ideas how I can make the PDF searchable for the greek words?

Thanks!

There's probably a problem with the fonts used to create this PDF file. As such, there's no much you can do, unless you convert all the pages to images and then back to PDF and run OCR on it...

Thanks for answering.
Tried that but when converting to jpeg, I'm getting all pages saved separately and then they are too many to combine into a single pdf to run OCR (about 2000 pages). Tried a couple of solutions found online with no luck. Would anybody know of a reliable method to save pdf as jpeg into a single file?

"Printing" with Universal Document Converter and saving as multipage tiff image worked well for me.
Thanks for the idea, can now search the dictionary.
