We have a set of documents comprising in excess of 1000 documents. Approximately 160 of these documents are multi-page text documents prepared in MS Word (2010); the other are mostly single-page illustrations prepared in a variety of graphic applications. All these documents are converted to PDF before internal publication on the company LAN in a single folder.
The text documents contain hyperlinks (created in Word) to the illustration documents, and also to bookmarks in other text documents of the set.
When converted to PDFs (via Adobe Acrobat XI Pro), the hyperlinks to bookmarks in other documents in the set do not function correctly. It opens the document in which the bookmark is, but does not go to the actual bookmark. How can I make the hyperlink go to the actual bookmark location?

You need to change the in the Word file you are going to convert to a PDF to link the PDF file of the target file.

Could you perhaps be a little more specific; "...change the in the Word file..."

Dear gkaiseril,
In your previous reply you apparently omitted some key words. Could you perhaps repost please?

You need to convert the target files to PDF's snd then change the link target to the PDF. You msy also want to use relative lnks instead of absolute links.

In Word, the hyperlink in the host file looks like this (e.g.): 2CHP03-03-11.docx#H_0_0_1_1_3_b (H_0_0_1_1_3_b being the bookmark name in the target file. No paths are include in the hyperlink.
Before I convert to pdf (both host and target files), I change all .docx extensions in the host file to .pdf. In the resultant pdf file then, clicking on the hyperlink in the host file, takes me to page 1 of the target file and not to the bookmark in the target file.
Do you have a remedy for this?

You can't link to bookmarks in PDF files.
