I have a form in Adobe X with a text field (named Text2) limited to 450 characters in the properties/option tab.  I want to add a character countdown for the text field using the format tab, I believe in the "custom keystroke script" field.  I've tried numerous Java scripts but none seem to work at all....I'm obviously missing something basic.  Are there any Java geniuses out there that can provide the correct script that I can copy/paste?  Something as simple as a message like:  Characters Remaining: XXX.  I'd sure be appreciative of any assistance!

See  http://www.acrotex.net/blog/?p=784 - Countdown Maximum Length Input  by D.P. Story for a working example. Note this PDF has a function stored as a document level script that is used in the custom keystroke script.
