I am trying to burn an instruction manual to CD.  When I copy the pdf documents onto the CD, the hyperlinks in the table of contents (pdf) link back to the original files on my computer not to the documents on the CD.

What am I missing?

How did you create the links?

You need to know that there are absolute links and relative links. Absolute links are the full URI for the files while relative links are the path to the linked file from the current directory. All the files should reside at or above a common base directory. When the files are moved one needs to move all the directories from the common base directory up together and keep the relative positions of the files and directories exactly the same as the original directories.

The most reliable way is embedding all linked documents into the main PDF file, and linking towards embedded documents.
