Hi,

I want to change the "Documents Properties - Intial View" of multiple documents to:

Navigation tab: Bookmarks Panel and Page
Page layout: Default
Magnification: Default
Open to page: 1

I wonder if JavaScript can do this, your help and guidance are really appreciated!

I don't know about JavaScript, but in Acrobat 8 you can achieve the other objectives using the Batch Sequence feature. Look at Document > Open options in the commands available.

Hi aandi, thanks for your reply! Actually what I want to do is:

For documents more than one page, set "Documents Properties - Intial View" as:
Navigation tab: Bookmarks Panel and Page
Page layout: Default
Magnification: Default
Open to page: 1

For documents with only one page, set "Documents Properties - Intial View" as:
Navigation tab: Page Only
Page layout: Default
Magnification: Default
Open to page: 1

But I don't know how to do this by JavaScript, can you advise? Thanks a lot!

if this.numPages == 1
{
...
}
else{
...
}

You can not do this in Acrobat JavaScript. You can set the zoom and the nav panel when the PDF is opened or a page in opened but this is different than setiting the document properties.

You might want to look at PDF procucts from Arts PDF.

You can't set the actual settings, but you can enforce the ones you want by embedding a script in the document that applies them, using the zoom, zoomType, layout and pageNum properties.
