Hello all,

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this, but I have a client that wants me to create a PDF form that is submitted via email. They have brought up two points that I'm not entirely sure about, and figured I would ask here.

1. They want the response to go to multiple addresses instead of just one. Can this be achieved with multiple 'mailto:'s separated by commas?

2. Is there a way to generate a reply to the submitter once they submit? As in, a 'thank you' is generated (or pulled from an existing place) and emailed back to the submitter? I assume this can only happen if part of the form includes a spot for an email address... and while this sounds simple, it doesn't seem like it would be that simple to implement.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Dave

I'd recommend you abandon the idea of emailing it. It's a handy thing for testing and demoing but absolutely not robust enough for commercial use.

You should be submitting the form instead to a web server in the usual way.

1. Yes, you can specify multiple email addresses. Just separate them with comma's (use a single mailto: command, though).
2. If you want an automatic response by email it's something that needs to be done on your server, on in the form. However, in the form you can display a message to the user, saying something like "Thank you for sending the email". This requires a script, though.
