How do I create a PDF that (a) is smaller than the Word size AND (b) has working Table of Contents links (they work in the Word source doc)?

Here are the details:
I am using Word 2013, Adobe Acrobat Pro X, and Windows 7.

When I create a PDF from Word, I can do it three ways. These are the results:

CTRL + p > Adobe  Print (selection for the printer)  -->
Positive result: PDF size is (expectedly) smaller than Word size in KB
Negative result: The Table of Contents links that worked in Word no longer work in PDF. I do not have the capability to set them manually.

Ctrl + p > PDFcamp Printer Driver (selection for the printer) -->
Negative result: PDF size is (unexpectedly) larger than the Word size in KB
Negative result: The Table of Contents links that worked in Word no longer work in PDF. I do not have the capability to set them manually.

Export > Create PDF/XPS -->
Positive result: The Table of Contents links work
Negative result: The PDF is 7.5 times the size of the Word doc (Word doc: 671KB, PDF: 5,033 KB)

Why didn't you use the Acrobat add-on in Word?

It is part of the Acrobat product. It includes the ability to add intreactive features of Word into the PDF being created.
