    Posted: 13 Nov 2013 at 5:30pm
Hello.  I am creating a general application form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro.  I need to code the employment history section so that a user cannot submit until they've provided 5 years of employment history.

The date format being used for the start/end dates is: mm/yyyy

Please help!  Calculating dates is not my forte.

Thank you in advance.

So basically you want to validate that the value the user enters is at least 5 years before the current date?

The application will have a few rows.

For example:

Current Employer:
Start Date / End Date

Previous Employer (1):
Start Date / End Date

Previous Employer (2):
Start Date / End Date

Previous Employer (3):
Start Date / End Date

The user must provide 5 years history.  If they don't, they shouldn't be able to submit.

Thank you!

So how do you expect it to work, exactly? You need to define exactly what the script should enforce.
Also, when is this scripts supposed to kick in? Is this file being submitted?

The script should probably kick in as they're filling out the section.  If their current employment doesn't equal 5 years, then the Previous Employment(1) becomes required.

If their current and Previous Employment(1) doesn't equal 5 years, then Previous Employment(2) becomes required...and so fourth.

Then, perhaps, when they try to submit, if they haven't provided 5 years, maybe an alert message stating they haven't provided 5 years and will not be able to proceed/submit until they do so.

The file itself is not being submitted; the fields/data are.

Thank you!

This would require quite a complex script. If you're interested I can develop it for you for a small fee.
You can contact me at my email to discuss it further.
