One of our staff created a PDF file and for some reason it is damaged.  I tried to open it with Adobe Acrobat Pro, but no luck.  It is a VERY important manual.  Any help would be appreciated.

One might be able to use Acrobat to solve this issue not all possible problems with a PDF can be fixed. The PDF format is a very complex data structure consisting of many different object and tables. Some of the objects could be compressed data streams which might not be able to be reconstructed.

It is considered good practice to save the source file from which the PDF is created so if the document needs to be edited it can easily be done in the source format. PDFs are not easily edited so it is best to start with the source file.

You also might want to see if anyone else in your organization has a saved copy of the PDF in question or if you can restore it from a  back up tape.
